FTP Instructions
Take advantage of quickly submitting files to Merlin by accessing
our FTP site. The process is easy accomplished in a couple of
different fashions.
Traditional Method:
The traditional method of transferring files to a FTP server
requires the use of FTP Client Software and works very reliably.
If you are using a PC then software such as WS_FTP
or Cute FTP is a good choice.
If you are using a Macintosh we would suggest Fetch or CyberDuck.
To access our server you will require several pieces of information:
- Server Address - ftp.merlincolor.com
- User ID - An ID that you choose when you request an account
- Password - A password you that you will also choose
- Port Number - The default is Port 21
With any FTP Client software you will be required to create a
new site or connection. After receiving your account information,
enter it and attempt to connect. If you still experience difficulties,
call us and we will be happy to guide you.
Web Browser Method
One can also you the standard web browser such as Explorer or
Netscape to also access the web. Keep in mind that depending on
which browser or platform you use, this may not work. If you click
on ftp.merlincolor.com
and get a pop up window requesting a User ID and Password, enter
your account information. Then you should see your Merlin directory
displayed in your browser. To transfer files just drag and drop.
A second way is to enter the following information in the URL
of your browser.
ftp://userID:Password@ftp.merlincolor.com
If neither of these techniques work then you should use the traditional
method.
